How we got here: bus ride from (Guiwan)Zamboanga. 7-8 hours. Satellite Bus terminal in Quezon Ave. take tricycle to get to your hotel.
Eco Park. free entrance. mini-zoo, cultural exhibits, long treks available if you dare. buses that ply the route to the eco park is few and far in between. we got there ok. but was waiting forever to get a bus back. Two buses ran past us without stopping (they were really full) after waiting for a couple of hours. We finally accosted a habal-habal to take us back to town. we pretty much gave up on exploring the nearby sights after this adventure.
…found out there are scorpions in the philippines. we saw a tiny, white speckled one making its way up and down an electric pole while waiting for a bus.
